Construction materials
Building materials are heavy, bulky and often delivered to places that aren't built for trucks. That makes freight one of the biggest costs in the price of the product. We help suppliers and distributors lower it.
Examples we look for in a freight review.
Industry data

Public research
Heavy building products often weigh out before a trailer or railcar is full, which leaves paid-for space empty. An EPA SmartWay® bulletin describes ceramic tile maker Daltile, whose railcars typically weighed out with almost 4,000 cubic feet unused. By co-loading lighter freight on top of its tile pallets, Daltile cut transportation costs by up to 15% per load (EPA-420-F-19-014, 2019, p.2).
For loads that weigh out, EPA also points to lighter equipment such as aluminum plate wall trailers and plastic pallets (EPA-420-F-21-038, 2021, p.1).

Yes. Open-deck freight often carries tarp fees, permits, escorts and oversize or overweight charges on top of the line-haul rate. We check each one against your carrier agreements and the shipment details, and look for loads that could be built or routed to avoid them.
Yes. Building materials freight often peaks in spring and summer, when flatbed capacity is tight. We look at your volume by month and build that pattern into carrier agreements and shipping plans, so peak-season capacity and rates are planned ahead instead of bought at the last minute.
